In 1980, Bob DeSoto started the Varsity Girls Soccer program.  He coached for 24 years, earning love and respect from his players and colleagues.  He retired from coaching after the 2003 season.  In 2008, Bob passed away.  This website and our entire program are dedicated to his memory and his legacy, without which, we would not be so fortunate to wear that Brentwood uniform on the field every Fall.
Dan Danbusky took over for two seasons, compiling a record of 9-16-3.  Dan is noted for having started off-season training sessions for the girls.  After the 2005 season, Dan took the assistant coaching job for the St. Joseph's College Men's Soccer team.  He still works with that group today.
Dana Los, Danbusky's assistant the prior seasons, took over the Varsity Girls team in 2006.  The team went 2-9-1.  After that season, Dana had a baby and relinquished her coaching duties.
In January of 2007, I took the reigns of this program and sought to it that major changes were necessary, changes that would knowingly take years to right the ship.  The team has gone 4-25-1.  But during that time, year round weekly training sessions were put in place, as well as our program's first appearance in the Town of Brookhaven's Summer Soccer League for both the JV and Varsity teams.  A website has been created to share pictures, videos and information among the Brentwood Girls Soccer community.  A youth summer training camp is run every year to spark interest in girls soccer as well as serve as a fundraiser for the program, allowing us to buy jackets, bags and t-shirts for the Varsity Girls Soccer team every season.  With the help of our assistant coach, Danielle Lillis, our JV coach, Joe Fusco, as well as members of the Brentwood Soccer Club, we are looking to expand the interest in girls soccer throughout the Brentwood community, improve their training and win games via discipline, commitment and hard work.
